Judging At The NZ Spirits Awards

Judging At The NZ Spirits Awards

I had the honor of being invited to judge at the NZ Spirits Awards again this year. Focusing on Contemporary Gin, London Dry, and Vodka, the first two days were dedicated to panel tastings, followed by the highly anticipated final trophy round on the third day. This exhilarating experience not only provided an opportunity to recognize exceptional spirits but also fostered connections with fellow spirits enthusiasts who share a passion for the craft.

Being selected as a judge for the NZ Spirits Awards was a true privilege. The opportunity to lend my expertise, experience, and palate to this competition was both humbling and exciting. To be entrusted with the responsibility of evaluating and honoring the finest spirits produced in New Zealand was a testament to the dedication and passion I have invested in this industry.

One of the most rewarding aspects of judging at the NZ Spirits Awards was the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of like-minded spirits enthusiasts. Engaging in spirited discussions, exchanging insights, and sharing anecdotes about our shared passion created a unique camaraderie. The collective knowledge and shared experiences of the judging panel added depth and richness to the overall judging process. With Covid border restrictions no longer being an issue, it was great to meet some overseas judges.
