Awildian gin from the Coromandel Distilling Co, based in Thames, has won the best New Zealand Classic for The Awildian Dry and Contemporary Gin for the Awildian Blue Gin at the 2023 World Gin Awards. This prestigious award recognizes Awildian's exceptional taste and quality, as well as the passion and expertise of the team.
The World Gin Awards are one of the most respected awards in the global spirits industry, and winning a prize is a great achievement for any distillery. This year's competition was particularly tough, with hundreds of gins from around the world vying for the top spot in each category.
Awildian is named from an archaic English word meaning to run wild or refuse to be tamed, and I can certainly confirm this is reflected in a both gins offering a very unique flavour profile.
