A seasonal release, only a limited number of bottles are available and get snapped up quickly, selling out out in a matter of days last year.
Putting quality first is the main ingredient for Humdinger's successful gins.
This is why they established an orchard of over 1,000 blackthorn trees. To have fresh, locally-grown sloes picked at peak ripeness to capture the brightest possible flavours.
A product of rich soils, distinctive topography, and unique climate, each bottle resonates with the heartbeats of our orchards.
The Humdinger Way
For the Humdinger team, a natural product has to be something genuinely recognisable in nature - a seed, a berry, a root. Attention to detail and honest, naturally sourced ingredients are hallmarks of Humdinger Gin. Sourcing botanicals both locally and from a specialist UK spice trader to infuse their gins not just with flavour, but also with history and culture from around the world.
Andy can be seen obsessively hand-preparing all their aromatic botanicals to release the natural flavours slowly into each small, handcrafted batch. All distilled in their 30-year-old 220L Arnold Holstein still that he modified himself, having a background in engineering.
The humble worker bee was chosen as their mascot out of respect for everything they do, without which it wouldn’t be possible to make great gin. Humdinger also put their money where their mouth, sponsoring The Beekeeper’s Daughters, an organisation that supports and advocates for New Zealand’s bee population.
