The Whisky Box is Here

The Whisky Box is Here

In April 2023 we launched our subscription box to bring the best premium craft gins from around the world and New Zealand right to your door every month. Not just for the delight of a new gin picked out by our in-house expert, but to also give you everything you need to really enjoy it in one convenient box. From tonic and garnish to delicious snacks and extra spirits to mix your own perfect cocktails, along with an information card to learn about the people who made it as well as the gin itself.

With the boxes roaring success and our 18-month anniversary of The Gin Club subscription box happening tomorrow with the October 2024 box, we're incredibly excited to be branching out to offer the same level of service and excellence to whisky lovers as well.

To make sure that we deliver a whisky box just as good as our gin one, we've partnered with Nigel Kelly, an Auckland-based whisky educator and expert. With decades of experience in the liquor and hospitality industries, including 11 years with Pernod Ricard, not to mention his extensive travels to visit distilleries and wineries across the world, he's the perfect person to put our heads together with.

All the perks of subscribing to The Whisky Box are just like with The Gin Club box, including saving $20 of RRP, free shipping on each box, a personal discount code for 10% off any non-subscription orders, and a gift when first sign up. We thought it would be a bit passé to have this be another book, so instead it's some really gorgeous hand-polished marble coasters that look really stunning with a glencairn or tumbler of liquid gold sitting on them.

Our first box will be going out in November and is featuring the Quarter Cask 'The Bothy' whisky from Lochranza Distillery on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. The Arran Single Malt selected for this cask strength expression was initially matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels before being transferred for secondary maturation into smaller Quarter casks also made of the finest American oak. The process of transferring this whisky into the smaller 125-litre sized casks produces far greater contact between the whisky and oak and a faster, more intense maturation. This will be paired with some excellent tidbits to enhance your experience, which you can read about in its own dedicated blog just the ones for the gin boxes.

We hope that that's got you all as excited as we are and we hope to be sending out a box to you and all your whisky loving mates in the coming months, so be sure to sign up today!
