Opening in late 2019, Hastings Distillers were the first certified organic producer of spirits and liqueurs in New Zealand.
They endeavour to grow as many of their botanicals as possible in the Hawkes Bay using organic and biodynamic practices, with the belief that the region’s ‘terroir’ imprints on all of the botanicals.
A 150L Arnold Holstein still is used to make their gins which are cut to strength using spring water from the nearby Kaweka Ranges.
They also have a tasting room in the East 200 block of Heretaunga Street.
