Founded on three key principles: ‘A love for Aotearoa’, ‘A passion for conservation’, and ‘A desire to make good gin’, they named for and inspired by the flightless native Kākāpō.

They use traditional methods with a copper alquitar to bring out Aotearoa’s native forests and botanicals in their gins, foraging and working closely with local growers.

Eco-conscious at every step, they work to minimise their environmental impact by using recycled materials, reducing waste and energy consumption, as well as donating 10% of profits to the Department of Conservation’s Kākāpō Recovery program.
